Privacy Policy
Last Updated: May 19, 2025
Welcome to Watch Identifier ("we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our Watch Identifier mobile application (the "App").
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
We prioritize your privacy. Watch Identifier is designed to function without collecting any personally identifiable information from you.
- No User Accounts: The App does not require you to create an account or log in.
- No Personal Data Storage: We do not store your photos or any data that could directly identify you on our own servers.
- No User Tracking for Identification: Your usage of the app for watch identification is not tied to a user ID or any personal identifier.
2. Information Processed for Watch Identification
To identify watches, the App uses image recognition technology. This process involves the following:
- Image Submission: When you take or upload a photo of a watch for identification, the image is sent to Google's Gemini API for analysis.
- Google's Gemini API: The image processing is handled by Google's Gemini API. Your images are subject to Google's privacy policies and terms of service when processed by their API. We encourage you to review Google's Privacy Policy and Google Gemini API Terms of Service.
- Anonymized Data: While the image is sent for analysis, we do not associate this image with you personally. The identification request is processed without linking it to a specific user account or device ID in our systems.
- No Storage by Us: Watch Identifier does not store the images you submit for identification on its own servers after the identification process is complete via the Gemini API.
3. How We Use Information (Non-Personal)
We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage data to improve the App's performance and user experience. This data does not identify you personally and may include:
- Frequency of use of certain features.
- Crash reports and performance data (collected anonymously).
- Device type and operating system version (collected anonymously) for compatibility purposes.
4. Third-Party Services
Apart from Google's Gemini API for image recognition, the App does not integrate with other third-party services that would collect your personal information.
5. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information processed by our App. However, please remember that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While images are transmitted to the Gemini API for processing, we rely on the security measures implemented by Google for their services.
6. Children's Privacy
Our App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in the relevant jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
